You might not be aware of it, but the Wikimedia Foundation has an in-house counsel (Mike Godwin, of Godwin’s law fame) and also uses the services of expert lawyers in several countries. They know pretty well what they’re doing – proof: the Wikimedia Foundation has never been successfully sued.
Regarding philosophers, please excuse my doubts. One of the best known philosophers of the 20th century, one highly considered by many current philosophers, Martin Heidegger, was a nazi. A number of famous Western philosophers supported Stalinist government in the USSR, Mao in China, and some even the Khmer Rouge, partly because this was fashionable. Do we need such people on board? Which philosophers do you plan to choose?
Finally, one does not quite see the relevance of historians to problems of management of Wikipedia. Historians surely would be relevant to history articles on Wikipedia; but so would be climate scientists for articles regarding climate; and so on.
